may pass onto their offspring!
I
am unable to accurately predict "show quality" on a 6-12 week old
junior. I may use words like "promising, show potential and showable"
(no dq's). The words "show quality" are reserved for
"proven" show stock. It is too hard to predict on juniors this young
with absolute certainty.
Holding Information
- Holding
or Reserving animals requires 50% non-refundable deposit.
- A
hold takes place once it is stated that the animal/s are desired in either
an email, on the phone, or during a visit one has been chosen.
- Once
an animal has been put "on hold," a deposit must be received within
a week from the time you said you will buy the rabbit or cavy, with the exception
of animals chosen at my residence, hold money must be given that day otherwise
the animal will be offered as for sale again unless other approved arrangements
are made. Once the money in full has been received for the animal/s and should
the purchaser change his/her mind, then the refund of 50% of the cost of each
undesired animal will take place.
- All
animals will only be held for a period of one week from the time of purchase
and/or deposit is received. In the case of young ones, when weaned and ready
to go, they will need to be shipped or picked up at that time. There after
they will be put up "For Sale" and deposit lost, unless alternative
arrangements are approved. A boarding fee of 10.00
a week per animal will apply for holds longer than one week. This boarding
fee must accompany the 50% deposit and is also non-refundable. I reserve the
right as to how long I will hold an animal. Dates of pick will need to be
established for approval to be valid. All boarding fees must be prepaid for
the hold to take place.
- Should the
"rabbit on hold" become ill or die, your deposit may be put toward
another rabbit of equal value. Should there not be any available, then you
may be put on a wait list until one becomes available.
- Once
stated by the purchaser that money orders are in the mail or money has been
received in the mail or via western union, this is confirmation of a sale!
- No
changes on rabbits and cavies are permitted during the time from which it
was stated which ones are being taken or agreed upon to the time they are
shipped for which the money has been or is being sent (which includes hold
deposits). Please be certain the rabbits/cavies you choose are the ones you
want.

Airline Shipping Requirements
PLEASE
NOTE: I ONLY USE AIR CANADA AND FLIGHTS THAT CONNECT WITH AIR CANADA. CANADIAN
CUSTOMERS - I CAN USE WEST JET ON A LIMITED BASIS IF YOU ARE REGISTERED WITH
THEM. I will be registering in the future.
- As of October
2008, Air Canada requires the animals to be prepaid. They no longer allow
them to be shipped COD. Animal shipping costs must be paid in full prior to
departure. For West Jet this can be done through the airline with a credit
card when shipping arrangements are made. For Air Canada you must send the
shipping amount with the payment of the animals prior to departure.
- Shipping
costs vary greatly and I can not give you an accurate cost of shipping until
they are actually on the weigh scale at the airport. The airlines will give
"Estimates" based on cage dimensions and approximate weight. Most
shipments I have made based on 3-6 rabbits has been $130.00-$225.00 within
Canada and the US.
- All
animals must be shipped in "show carrier" type airline approved
carriers or plastic cat carriers.
- I
find the pet taxi type carriers nice for a trio of babies or a couple of adults.
More than that and it seems more cost effective and convenient to use a wire
show carrier, especially when purchasing multiple adults.
- THE
FOLLOWING IS A LIST OF REQUIREMENTS FOR THE AIRLINE APPROVED WIRE CARRIERS
- What
is considered suitable to the airlines are carriers whose wire is no larger
than 1"x1" squares.
- Each
animal requires it's own hole or space (two babies may be put in the same
hole if it is big enough and they get along).
- The
carrier must be all wire with a firmly attached, leak proof metal refuse tray.
- The
tray needs to be deep so as to cover a portion of the wire sides, or metal,
corrugated plastic must cover the sides part way up.
- The
lid must be wire with a solid area preferably metal but they do seem to accept
a corrugated plastic sheet firmly attached over the wire roof.
- The
carriers must have adequate room for the rabbit or cavy to sit, lie down and
turn around. The carriers must have adequate ventilation.
- I can not
be responsible if you want me to squeeze a few extras in a shipment and they
are returned because of this. I am willing to wait for another carrier to
come within a two week period but no refunds will be given if you change your
mind on the extra animals should they have been returned by the airlines.
- All costs
incurred for returned animals are the purchaser's responsibility. Expenses
fees will apply to any new shipments.
- Each hole
should be able to house a bottle and food cup for long trips and still provide
enough room to comfortably fit the rabbit or cavy.
Click
here to see some photos of carriers that are airline approved. These beautiful
carriers were custom made by Brian Letson of Grandview Cage supply in Ontario.
His cages are very well made, airlined approved and very reaonably priced. Providing
carriers are your responsibilty.

and order/pay for them directly from him and have them shipped prepaid and preassembled

Option # 2
You can send
me a carrier that meets the regulations described in the rules listed. I will
require a photo or detailed explanation of the carrier you wish to send. I can
not be responsible if your carrier is rejected and animals rebooked. A new transport
charge will apply, cost of new carrier, as well as cost involved in sending
carrier back to you COD.
- Travel
Carriers, water bottles, feed cups, flight costs and health certificates -
for destinations outside Canada, as well as the animals must be paid for in
full before leaving my residence.
- All
Airport inquiries to destinations outside of Canada are the responsibility
of the purchaser.
I will only ship to destinations that can be shipped from the Victoria International
Airport (YYJ) NOT VANCOUVER (YVR). Some destinations do not support
this, so you will need to enquire from your airport, or you can call Air Canada
Cargo at the Victoria International Airport at 250-656-0231
or AC Live animal cargo toll free at 1-866-615-1155. You are also
responsible to find out what the regulations of your state or country are
and what is required as far as health certificates, gov't stamps ect. Each
state or country has it's own regulations of what is required and it is up
to you to find out and pass the information on to me. I
can not be responsible for mis-information or returned animals due to incorrect
information.
- There
is a 40.00 charge for traveling time & gas for canadian customers and
a 60.00 charge for international customers due to vet office & airport
travels
Once you have established that flights can be made from the Victoria International
Airport (YYJ) to your destination and a deposit has been received, I will
proceed to make the flight arrangements. My expenses charge of $40.00 - $60.00
must accompany your deposit so I may proceed with arrangements. This
charge is not refundable.

If
you like my above sales agreement, you are welcome to use it for your own rabbitry
or caviary, but please ask permission first. Thank you. In no way have I copied
this information from another site. If there is wording here that appears to
be like another, it is purely co-incidental and unintentional. As rabbit or
cavy breeders it is likely that some wording will be similar since we all face
similar situations when it comes to breeding and sales. It took me a fair bit
of thought to write this up and if I can spare another person from having to
write up their own, I am happy to share mine with you! : ) All
I ask is that credit is given under the agreement stating that it came from
Creator's Critters and a link back to my site on your links page.
