Roan peruvians are a relatively rare color. According to the ARBA description the roan color is described as an intermixing of white plus one or two recognized self, agouti or solid colors. Ears and eyes are to match the corresponding color variety. Most roans have self colored or agouti colored heads with roaning starting around the shoulders. Toenails can be the color of any color present on the cavy. The eyes are to mach the corresponding color variety. Faults in roan are described as self solid or agouti colored patches on the body. DQ's are described as less than 75% of the body being roaned, clear cut dalmation spotting which does not resemble roaning. With peruvian cavies more emphasis is placed on coat density and texture than color.

I currently breed Blue, Chocolate, Red (also known as Strawberry roan).
